 "Edutainment” is utilizing the strength of entertainment to educate.  This year, The College of Aspiring Artists, 94.9 Hallelujah FM and The Rave are teaming up to bring a new initiative to aspiring artists and entertainers.   THE EXPRESS Movie, The Ernie Davis Story kicks off the search for 1000 aspiring entertainers who will be recognized as the next generation of entertainers. We thank our partners who have and continue to support this our new development programs.  The Little Rock School District, Little Rock Job Corps, Little Rock Parks and Recreation, KABF Community Radio, Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith and many others who are on board.  Your attending this film and getting others to attend it does several things.

 1.  Help millions to learn about this incredible true story.

2.   Help to motivate students in Arkansas to pursue entertainment careers.

3.   Assist our college with scholarship revenues.

4.  Assist in the production of our documentary film, THE TRIBUTE which is set for

     release April 2009.

  • The Express: The Ernie Davis Story

A remarkable story about the first African-American male who defied the odds in college football.  In 1962, Ernie Davis won the heisman trophy while battling leukemia. His life-changing story provides hope to those aspiring to accomplish greatness. He changed our country…one yard at a time. A must see film for all the difference makers!  Middle, High School and College Students will write essays, coaches will bring out their teams, family’s, church, community and civic groups will see college sports and academics in an “edutaining” perspective like never before.

  • The Entertainment Zone at the Little Rock Rivermarket;   Entertainment showcasing the performing and visional artists from across the state and Delta Region, CD Review and Documentary Filming for THE TRIBUTE Documentary Film.  Special Feature:  The Battle of The Talents. 

  • 1000 High School Students can apply for the “Aspiring Entertainer Career Choice Awards & Scholarships.”  Essays  will be written from those that see the film plus reading the book will be required.  We will award over $100,000 in scholarships beginning Spring 2009.  Applications are available through the counselors offices.  Deadline for entry is November 5th.  Early entry has incentives.

Sunday, November 9th- Gospel/Jazz Brunch:  Special Tribute to Ernie Davis, "The Express" Movie honoring Coaches and Teams from across the Region.

Networking, Final Hookup’s,  Hobnobbing with DLC   Organizers and supporters from across the city, state and region in the finest of dining. 

1620 Restaurant - Three Sessions:   10-11:30    11:30-1pm  1pm-3pm
