It is our biblical assignment to pray.  To pray for those in authority as directed in I Timothy 2:1-7; we are required to do so.  The blessing in doing so allows for multiple benefits. Pastor Arthur L. Hunt, Jr. and Dr. Blanche L. Hunt are the State Coordinators for Arkansas National Day of Prayer Task Force and admonish everyone to join us in daily prayer for our nation and especially on April 7  and May 5 as we move towards the 2011 National Day of Prayer.

                                                                              PRAYER GUIDE

2012 marks 44 years since Dr. King gave his final prophecy.  On October 16, 2011, a monument on the National Mall in Washington DC was dedicated in his honor.  January 16, 2012 officially begins the next 25 years of the Federal Holiday honoring him. He is the only Prophet with this honor and this honor now serves as a Testament of Faith for Spiritual Leaders everywhere who are walking in these same footsteps. What better time than the 83rd Birthday Anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and YES- this year it is a Sunday- than to think on and engage the words of Christ? Jesus said- A house/kingdom/nation divided against itself- CANNOT STAND- The only way to achieve success in the Kingdom of God is to adhere to this teaching. The Declaration and Mandate from our God to our Families-Churches-Nation and World as we approach the next 25 years of the Federal Holiday honoring his Prophet, the Rev. Dr. MLK JR, is- UNDIVIDED- Let's all declare, do so and forever remain...”     Arthur L. Hunt, Jr., Producer of the first three National Tribute to King Holiday, Memphis, TN, January 1990-1992, CEO, The College of Aspiring Artists, Senior Pastor, Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith,  State Coordinator,  National Day of Prayer, AR

 Mission

Blessed be God for each prayer leader and participant who joins us in this Supreme Day of Prayer and our ongoing efforts.  Our anchor leadership team starts with Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith, The College of Aspiring Artists and TwobyTwo Prayer.  We are grateful to have the National Day of Prayer and Prayer Surge Now and others who are joining daily as anchor and co-anchor support.  We are “undivided” offering prayers of thanksgiving to God for those who made great sacrifices for our generation to live in the true image and total fulfillment of what God has ordained for us and especially for those who worked for 18 years to insure that this day would manifest. We are engaging a one-hour Prayer Watch to honor God on a day that honors his Prophet(s).

This assignment invites and challenges the body of Christ, institutions, organizations and

It Happened!  During the 11 o’clock hour in each time zone, the nation was “UNDIVIDED.”  Dr. King notated that Sunday mornings at 11 o’clock was the most segregated hour of the week. BUT NO LONGER!

THE CHANGE HAS COME- This year, millions are engaging in- “Prayers of Thanksgiving to God for the Pioneer Keepers of the Faith… Prayers for Today’s Keepers of the Faith… and Prayers of Unity, Oneness and Love for the Next Generation of Dreamers, Visionaries and Innovators.”  ON MLK Holiday 2012- God Released “UNDIVIDED” and we will continue to be so- not only on this day but in perpetual engagement.  Check here daily for constant updates and happenings.

"A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD”

May 5, 2011

National Day of Prayer

The 60th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 5, 2011. Millions will unite in prayer at thousands of events from coast to coast. The theme for this coming year is “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” and is based on the verse from Psalm 91:2 which states: “I will say of the LORD he is my refuge and my fortress, in him will I trust.”

Arkansas will officially activate the National Day of Prayer activities in conjunction with the Supreme Day of Prayer in two services on Thursday, April 7.  These will take place at Covenant of Zion Cathedral in Little Rock located at 3023 W. 12th.   A morning prayer service will be from 11am-1pm and the evening service is at 7pm.  The services will focus on prayers for all persons in the State of Arkansas with special emphasis on the creative talents and enterprises inside the state.  National leaders from the National Day of Prayer and TwobyTwo Prayer will oversee these services.

The National Day of Prayer is part of America’s heritage and belongs to all Americans.  It provides an opportunity for citizens to pray voluntarily, according to their own faith – and it does not promote any particular religion or form of religious observance.  Arkansas’ Governor Mike Beebe has joined Governors across the nation issuing a proclamation each year proclaiming the first Thursday in May, as National Day of Prayer which urges all citizens to honor this day with ceremonies with diligence and humility.  The State Capitol Salute will be held from 12noon until 1pm.

In addition to the Capitol Salute, we are asking all ministers and municipalities to set a special time of prayer on this day in their community to pray for seven key pillars:  Government, Military, Education, Media, Church, Family and Business.

Pastor Arthur L. Hunt, Jr. and Dr. Blanche L. Hunt are the state coordinators for the National Day of Prayer.  Pastor Clarence “JCLoves” Thornton is the state capitol coordinator. To learn more about the ongoing effort to save the National Day of Prayer, or to find an event in your community, visit www.NationalDayofPrayer.org.  To upload an event or email us do so at: ndpupliftingarkansas@gmail.com  or call 870.623.8179.

 2011  "Supreme Year of Prayer"

January 10, 2011 (Little, Rock, AR) - The 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Federal Holiday has been declared, “A Supreme Day of Prayer.”  Amid storms of violence and storms of ice blanketing our nation, a clarion call to prayer is being made clear to all.  On October 31, 2010 during the final moments of the National Day of Prayer Task Force (NDP TF) Leadership Summit in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a meeting with national leaders from The College of Aspiring Artists and the NDP TF provided a vision-exchange inviting NDP TF to join Feel the Movement: From Prophecy to Promise Documentary Film in presenting a national day of prayer in honor of the 25th Anniversary honoring the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Federal Holiday. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968.  18 years later after much pursuit and perseverance the nation celebrated the first Federal Holiday in his honor on January 20, 1986.

The day of January 17, 2011 would be sanctioned and set in motion and would be declared, Dr. MLK Holiday: “A Supreme Day of Prayer.”  The day was launched in prayer on Thanksgiving Eve with prayer leaders from across the nation praying for God to prepare us to help lead millions of people in prayer on the only day in the nation that honors spiritual leadership giving honor to a prophet.

Now, one week before we celebrate the Silver Anniversary of this Prophet, the nation is in a state of emergency regarding our need to pray. Today, the US is mourning the deaths of six people in a shooting in Arizona on Saturday which left a congresswoman seriously wounded. Flags across the country will fly at half mast, and President Barack Obama will lead a minute's silence. "It will be a time for us to come together as a nation in prayer or reflection, keeping the victims and their families closely at heart," he said in a statement on Sunday.

House of Representatives Speak John Boehner called on fellow legislators to "stand together" and "rally round our wounded colleague".

Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords, was shot in the head and is critical but responding to simple commands. She had been holding an open-invitation meeting with constituents outside a supermarket in Tucson when a man holding a gun approached and opened fire. Ms Giffords, 40, was shot from close range by a gunman, who then began shooting into the crowd. Federal judge, U.S. District Judge John Roll a bystander is among the dead

Jesus taught us in Luke 18, that man should always pray and not faint.  The Apostle Paul admonished us to pray without ceasing and in his strong letter of wisdom to his spiritual son Timothy he writes that we should pray for all who are in authority in order that we can live a godly and peaceable life.

Why A Supreme Day of Prayer?

SUPREME. This is what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was all about. Supreme commitment to our Supreme God…Supreme commitment to education… Supreme commitment in serving humanity…Supreme sacrifice in laying down his life. SUPREME.

32 Hours of Continuous Prayer

MLK Tribute: Supreme Day of Prayer

From 10 PM on Jan 16 through 6 AM (Eastern Times) on Jan 18, we hosted 32 hours of continuous prayer on our phone line in a Divine Convergence that is now known as “A Supreme Day of Prayer” to honor the prophet Dr. Martin Luther King on this Silver Anniversary of the Designation of the 3rd Monday of January each year as a Federal Holiday.   We offered prayers of thanksgiving for those who along with Dr. King paved the way for this nation to return to God in regarding the truth that all of us were created equal and in the image of God and prayers for today’s leaders who are “keepers of the faith” and for all who are in authority.

1/1/2010. Prayers for the President.  Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith  starts each year with a time of prayer for our nation, state and world on the first day of each year.

24/7/365 Days a Year

The National Day of Prayer Task Force and Tribute "From Prophecy to Promise" documentary film along with a coalition of churches, institutions, and networks are committed to praying for our President, our nation, our cities, and our world. Below is the overview of 2009 and what's set for The 2010.

Prayers For The President

January 1, 2010, marked the one-year anniversary for Prayers For the President weekly column and initiative.   Over 40 persons from the city, county, state and nation offered prayers on behalf of President Obama, our nation, city, and leaders from various areas of influence.

On behalf of the National Day of Prayer Task Force and HMC Ministries, we would like to thank the Dumas Clarion for outstanding support in allowing so many persons to submit their prayers and for publishing them weekly.

The year 2010 began Friday, January 1st and again, a special community prayer service for the President, our nation, and for all leaders in our community was held at Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith from 11am-1pm.  It allowed ministers, worship leaders, lay persons, and community leaders to offer prayers, scripture readings and words of inspiration.

It was followed by a community reception in the Cathedral Cafe featuring gourmet coffee, tea and pastries in a community celebration of new beginnings.

Prayers for the President - End of Year 2009

God our Father, we are so thankful for another year that you have allowed us to live, experience, enjoy and witness you in ways like never before.  For the blessings you have given to our President, Mr. Obama, his family and those who have served in his administration, we are truly grateful.  For the many courageous acts of leadership aimed to advance the nation and the world, we again say thanks.

In the midst of many threats, mishaps and conjured schemes, your word has again been proven true.  Your word confirms that “except the Lord builds the house, they who labor, labor in vain and except the Lord watches the city, the watchman watch, but in vain.  God, you have kept our nation, state and city safe and stable, and for this we are truly grateful. As we end this year in the great city of Dumas, we praise your name for the greatness in our city and county and pray that you continue to guide us as we all become more greatly united in love, unity and prosperity in the coming year. This is your servant’s prayer, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.
